LegalTerms of Service
These terms cover your use of TownStakes, operated by [OWNER NAME], St. Clair, Michigan ("TownStakes," "we," "us"). By using the app or website, you agree to them.
1. Who can use TownStakes
You must be at least 13 years old to use TownStakes. If you create a campaign, you must be authorized to act for that candidate or campaign, and you're responsible for the people you invite to it.
2. Your responsibilities as a campaign
Campaign owners are responsible for:
- Getting the property owner's permission before placing any sign.
- Following local sign ordinances, election law, and any rules on when signs must come down.
- Following the clerk's rules for using a voter file, and using it only for your campaign.
3. Property checks and traffic data are information only
The property check, property lines, traffic counts and suggested spots come from public sources. They are for information only, are not legal advice, and may be wrong or out of date. A property check shows who owns a parcel; it does not give you permission to place a sign there.
4. Plans and payment
- The Free plan has the limits shown on our pricing page.
- Paid plans are a one-time payment per election and last through sign pickup. They are not subscriptions.
- Refunds are at our discretion.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use TownStakes to:
- Harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, including voters, sign hosts or other campaigns.
- Use voter data for anything outside your campaign, or share it with anyone not on your campaign team.
- Break the law, or try to get into accounts or campaigns that aren't yours.
6. Suspending accounts
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
7. Your data
Your campaign's data belongs to your campaign. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.
8. Service "as is"
TownStakes is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't promise the service will always be available, error-free, or that data from public sources is accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, TownStakes is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost signs, fines, or election outcomes. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the plan in question.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
11. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
